KOCHI SPECIALS
The pink, unopened flower buds of the myoga plant are harvested for their refreshing taste. The flavor of myoga is similar to that of ginger, but more refreshing. Its deep pink color adds an attractive visual accent to dishes. Myoga is often served either shredded or lightly pickled as an accompaniment to traditional Japanese dishes. In Kochi, it grows year-round in greenhouses.
